I know you think The Wire is great. It probably is!
I know you think I would love The Wire. I probably will!
I know that you believe that The Wire is totally amazing and addictive. (I deduced it from your previous statements about The Wire.) And I don’t doubt it.
You were right about The Sopranos. You were right about Lost. I bet you’re right about The Wire! I bet I’ll really like The Wire when I get around to watching it. It sounds great.
In the meantime, please SHUT UP ABOUT HOW MUCH I AM GOING TO LOVE THE WIRE. I have a lot to do, and I have a long Netflix queue.
I will watch The Wire when I watch The Wire!

Dude. You should be very glad that you are not in my family. I had been telling my sister to watch Veronica Mars, but she wouldn’t do as she was told. So over the holidays I forced her into a chair, popped in the DVD and barked at her to pay attention whenever her eyes strayed from the screen. And it worked! So your friends shouldn’t be above physical intimidation. It’s really the only solid strategy.
For the record, I did the same thing to her last year with The Office.
I myself do not watch The Wire, though I have been told I would like it. I don’t think I need to watch it. I understand that the current season is set in an urban school, and I work in a similar setting in real life. My job, however, is in an elementary school. So The Wire : My job :: The Muppet Show : Muppet Babies.
That analogy makes sense only if you’ve watched Muppet Babies. If you haven’t, you really should! I think you’d love it.

Dude. I should definitely note the bizarre fact that this entry was posted BEFORE the Muppet Babies reference on The Office. How crazy is that?! So many other people think about the Muppet Babies all the time, and I never knew!! Wow.
