Popcultureyay.com is the gift that keeps on giving
The good thing about this website is that we are a little slow. You may think the Academy Awards fanfare has come and gone, but here it’s like it just happened.
While it was extremely long with 12 too many montages, I am going to disagree with most critics and boldly state that I thought this year’s Academy Awards show was a huge success. It is true that there weren’t many high-stakes intense battles within categories which always makes for good television. Big shocker, Jennifer Hudson got the statue.  But, despite its length, the show kept my interest for the entire 8 hours or however long it was on. Ellen was a great host and I hope that she hosts in the future.
 My Favorite Oscar Moments:
- Abigail Breslin
- Ryan Seacrest trying to make sound up on his fashion and saying, after yet another Oscar guest was wearing Vera Wang, “There’s a lot of Wang tonight.”
- Forest Whittaker having his speech written out on a piece of paper so that he could deliver it more eloquently
-Alan Arkin winning for Little Miss Sunshine
-Â Ryan Gosling with his mom and sister
- Jaden Smith being the cutest presenter ever
- Will Ferrell, Jack Black, and John C Reilly taking Helen Mirren home
- When my mom called to say how blown away she was by the quality of Jack Black’s voice. (I think there may be a Tenacious D album in her Mother’s Day future)
- Hugh Laurie (oh wait, guess I’m still loving him from the Globes)
You know, now that I try to come up with highlights, maybe the Oscars were kind of boring this year.  Perhaps I am too enamored with the whole notion of the Academy Awards.
