I guess I won’t be returning to Jezebel after all.

Like Gilmore Girls’ Christopher, Dean, Jess, Max, Jason, Luke, Christopher again, and Logan, The Return of Jezebel James has been cut loose. Some blame the cancellation on anemic ratings due to the Friday time slot, but that wasn’t why the show lost me as a viewer. We’ve already seen that I will plan my Friday nights around quality television, and JJ just didn’t pass muster. I’m wondering if it got relegated to Fridays because Fox predicted that the series would disappoint. Amy Sherman-Palladino may have established herself on Roseanne, but I think her laugh-tracked sitcom days are through. I’ll be looking forward to what comes next from her, though. Did anyone watch any episodes of Jezebel? Were you sorry to see it go?

  1. I completely agree JJ was cancelled due to the poor quality of the show (the laugh track was jarring and inappropriate). I certainly hope ASP has more than one good show in her. Additionally, Parker Posey was way over the top, manical, I just couldn’t make myself like her. I really wanted this show to succeed. Unfortunately Parker Posey is no Lauren Graham, which is who I think we are all missing.
