My Initial Thoughts, Babe.
Last evening, The Office returned. I didn’t think I could wait until the day, but alas, I did. And it was good. Not amazing. But good. Seeing as I must got to work in oh, about five minutes ago, here are my initial thoughts.
It was so nice to see bizzare and erratic behavior again from actual fictional characters, not the contestants on Rock of Love. I think Melissa may have articulately put what seemed to be missing from last night’s episode. After weeks and weeks (and weeks and so many more weeks) of no new episodes, we were anxiously awaiting returning to Dunder Mifflin - the reception desk, the accountants corner, the break room, the bathroom candle that smells like cookies. But, instead we were returned to Jan and Michael’s townhouse. While still funny, didn’t exactly quench that Office thirst. However, I blame it on the timing of the writer’s strike and availability of finished episodes. Perhaps they didn’t know that this was going to be the first drop of rain after a long drought. (very eloquent, right?) I heard, from an unnamed source that we will call :my sister”, that this was the episode that was only half done when the strike went down. Pam said that next week’s episode is awesome. But, the beauty of The Office is that just when I think “eh, this episode is not one of their better ones,” someone says or does something to make me laugh out loud and remember why the show and all of its episodes are brilliant.
Welcome Back Scranton. We missed you.

YES! I missed the actual office too. I appreciate the strike perspective and will give it another chance because I think I was actually faking my laughter some of the time just because I wasn’t ready to let it die yet.
