90210 The REMIX

Related to my previous post, 90210 is back! SOON! Who is excited?? I’m slightly scared that it may be like Saved By The Bell: The New Class (but a skankier version). You know what I’m talking about. You think you want it. You’re curious. You want just a few more episodes of a favorite show, but then you see it.And it’s bad. Real bad. I’m hoping that since it is on the CW, like many CW shows, a viewer’s sense of “quality” is pushed into the shadows by the viewer’s sense of “addiction.” But, I’m wondering if the tie to 90210 will make people judge this CW drama more harshly. Kind of like, Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights. If you think about it as its own cheesy dance movie and not in relation to the super stellar classic, then it is a decent Saturday afternoon cinematic experience. But, if you are constantly comparing it to Dirty Dancing, then clearly, it’s crap.
I love that the mention of 90210 brings back all the Doherty - Garth drama. And, of course, Donna Martin is the one bringing it all back up. She was always causing problems. I never understood why David put up with her - talk about high maintenance. I want to see Andrea Zuckerman, she’s gotta be like 60. Maybe she should get with Nat. Now, THAT would be some CW drama. I’m curious to see what types of drama and conflict they employ with the series. I can’t think of any teen drama plot line that hasn’t already played out on either One Tree Hill or 90210 Classic. I don’t know about you, but I’m pumped. I’m most anxious for the opening theme song. I hope it’s like the original. Talk about a kickass ringtone…I’m going to go search for that one right now.

  1. YESSSSS. I cannot wait. And I just bought the ringtone myself. I thought about geting the ringback but decided against it. What should I get for ringback?

  2. Never mind I picked it.
